ABOUT THE COURSE
The Unique project is a 12 part course (not including the introduction) starting in the beginning of 2006 that consists of the following modules:-
- Big Brother Taster - Introduction to the course
- Video Diaries - Learn to use a camera to document progress
- Online Journalism - Basics on publishing an online magazine
- Profiling - Creating an Interactive DVD for carers
- Broadcast Journalism - Reporting on a newsworthy subject on film
Each module will take up 3 sessions (1 hour per session) and should be spread over 4-6 weeks. The whole course is free but learners must enrol early to avoid disappointment.
COURSE BENEFITS
From the 12 part course, learners will come away with a DVD of their work and membership to the Unique online magazine of their making that they can contribute to as much and as little as they like.
The filming and online publishing can be used as a memento of the work done during the course or it can form part of a showreel to find future work within the creative industries. It can be a tool to teach people how they want to be treated or as a platform to voice an opinion. It is entirely up to the individual but at the very least, all participants will come away with new skills to develop their creative talent.
A screening will be held at the end of the Unique project to celebrate the achievements of the learners and for the carers, family, friends and sponsors to share in their accomplishments with the intention of looking at how to take the project forward
